Carla is a bilingual Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Illinois and a member of the American Counseling Association. She acquired her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Texas – Pan American, and received a Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Trinity International University. She approaches counseling from a Christian perspective, and has a passion for helping individuals grow and overcome challenging circumstances in life.
Carla has provided individual, family, group, and couple's counseling to a wide range of ages. She holds a special fondness for working with an adolescent and young adult population. As a youth leader, mentor, and counselor, she has gained several years of experience working with an adolescent population.
Carla specializes in working with depression, anxiety, personality disorders, trauma, parenting challenges, juvenile delinquent behavior, self-harm, and issues of self-worth. She strives to bring a genuine and understanding presence to her work. She encourages clients to collaborate in the counseling process and to regain hope in their lives through reliance and trust in God.
Over the years, she has had joy in serving and actively participating in her local church and community. She enjoys dining out and movie nights with her husband. In her free time, she takes pleasure in traveling, reading, and making memories with family and friends.
