White Stone Counseling Resources

Erik MeeksErik is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Illinois. He has earned his Masters in Counselor Education from the University of Central Florida, and holds a Bachelors in psychology from Illinois State University. Erik has sought through his education in counseling to provide effective and productive forms of psychotherapy approaches to meet the needs of his clients from all different types of backgrounds and concerns. Erik believes in the healing power of therapy and that the best clinical work is achieved through first seeking God and then the skills of a well-trained therapist.

Erik has a diversity of clinical experience and is successful in seeing adults, couples, and adolescents. He has worked most recently with the addicted population, specializing in opiate addiction. Erik sees addiction as a struggle to be overcome rather than a moral failing, and is effective in helping those who desire change to make healthy choices that support sobriety. Erik is experienced in working with anxiety, including generalized anxiety, panic disorder, and OCD. He also focuses on depression concerns, trauma, relationship issues, parenting skills and developmental concerns, and men's issues, and he integrates the components of health and wellness into his practice. Erik seeks to help clients connect historical patterns of destructive or maladaptive behaviors with their root causes. He is a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and actively seeks continued education and professional growth.

Erik has been married to his wife for 5+ years and delights in raising their daughter. He is involved in his church body, enjoys spending time in community with his small group, and volunteers in the nursery with his wife. In his free time, Erik enjoys exploring nature, taking walks with his family, and staying active in sports. He has a passion for music and movies and greatly enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter and cultivating a fun family atmosphere.

"As a pastor, I have tremendous confidence that when I send a member of our church, they will meet with a counselor who brings true grace and compassion mixed with sound Biblical counsel. They have also helped me to be a better counselor as a pastor and to get a better picture of the challenges and struggles our people face. They are more than just counselors to whom we refer. We consider White Stone to be our ministry partner in helping us disciple our congregation to emotional and spiritual health and in ministering to our broken world."
