Luke is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the State of Illinois. He is also a National Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board for Certified Counselors. He received Masters Degrees in Mental Health Counseling and Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and a Bachelors in Youth Ministry from King University in Bristol, Tennessee.
Prior to attending college Luke served on active-duty military for four years; during this time God interrupted his life with the freedom of grace, which drew him into a lifelong journey of learning how to receive it. During and after college Luke worked as a youth pastor in Tennessee while also volunteering with Young Life through high school and junior high campus-based ministries. After graduate school he worked as a vocational counselor in Milwaukee, helping individuals discover their strengths and move toward careers consistent with their giftedness.
In addition to vocational and career issues, Luke has counseling experience with issues concerning disability, addiction, marital and relational conflict, veterans' issues, anxiety disorders, and mood disorders. He believes counseling is a collaborative process which provides an opportunity to identify potential, discover alternatives, and ultimately live more fully into God's story of renewal and hope in Christ. He welcomes individuals, couples, families, and adolescents.
Luke also serves his church through preaching, teaching, and as a home group facilitator. He and his wife have been married for over ten years and have four children. Luke enjoys woodworking, hiking, and fly-fishing and dreams of one day thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail.
