Joann Oyola, MA, LPC
Joann Oyola is a staff counselor at White Stone Resources. She holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Trinity International Divinity School in Deerfield, IL. She also has a B.A. in Business Administration from Interamerican University of Puerto Rico. Joann is a member of the American Counseling Association and enjoys walking alongside clients with care and understanding.
Having deep roots in Chicago and a period of immersion in Puerto Rican culture, she offers a unique blend of understanding and empathy for individuals who have experienced transition and adaptation. Joann understands the challenges of integrating into a different culture.
With a compassionate and understanding approach, Joann fosters a safe space for individuals to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Integrating Biblical truth into counseling, she empowers individuals to find healing from trauma, depression, anxiety, and cognitive distortions, enabling them to lead more fulfilling lives. She is dedicated to supporting others on their path to freedom, spiritual and personal growth, utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). As a bilingual (English/ Spanish) counselor, she offers sessions in both languages.
Joann enjoys mentoring young women in her free time as they strengthen their identity in Christ and serve alongside her husband as ministry leaders at their church.
