Michael Johnson, M.A., LPC
People come to counseling carrying a heavy mix of spiritual confusion, church hurt, emotional exhaustion, or the quiet strain of anxiety, depression, trauma, or ADHD. They want clarity, support, and a space where they don’t have to pretend they’re okay.
Michael provides that kind of space. He works with teens, young adults, adults, couples, and families, helping them move from overwhelm and disconnection toward steadiness, self-compassion, and healthier relationships.
How Michael Works
With over 10 years of experience as a Youth and Worship Pastor, Michael has spent much of his life walking alongside people in vulnerable and often deeply painful moments. This background shapes his counseling approach—warm, thoughtful, grounding, and deeply respectful of each person’s story and faith background (including the complicated parts).
Michael has completed Dr. Tori Olds’s “Minding the Heart” training, an integrative experiential therapy approach that helps clients move from insight to embodied emotional change. This training supports his gentle, present, and experiential style of guiding clients through what feels tangled or overwhelming.
His style is both compassionate and honest. He listens closely, helps clients make sense of what they’re feeling, and supports them in building practical skills that foster real and lasting change. Whether someone’s pain relates to trauma, relationships, identity, or the church, he offers a space to process without pressure or judgment.
